Jun Ni

Professor, Chaired Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Director of the S.M. Wu Manufacturing Research Center, and also served as the Founding Dean of the Joint Institute between Michigan and Jiao Tong University.  In addition, he is Co-Director of the Multi-Campus National Science Foundation Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems, a Deputy Director of the NSF-Engineering Research Center for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems, a Collegiate Professor for the S.M. Wu Center for Manufacturing Science. Dr. Ni holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin plus a B.S. in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.  His research interests include: manufacturing process modeling, analysis and prediction; precision engineering and metrology; cutting tool development, quality control methods, intelligent maintenance systems, and fault monitoring and diagnosis.  Professor Ni has been kindly seen by China National Leaders multiple times and been exclusively interviewed by China CCTV “Chinese Elite World ” Program for 40 minutes. 



Dwight Carlson

Entrepreneur, Chairman/CEO of Coherix Inc.  Mr. Carlson also serves on the Leveraging Innovation Technology (LIT) Team, an non-profit organization that works to accelerate innovative manufacturing technology into the auto industry.  As a seasoned entrepreneur and social activist, Mr. Carlson also serves on the Advisory Board for the Samuel Zell and Robert H.Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.  Mr. Carlson co-founded and chaired the Auto Body Consortium (ABC, Inc.), formed to perform collaborative research between the Big Three automakers, the auto supply base, research universities, and federal research laboratories.  He served on the advisory board of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), co-chaired the National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) in Washington, D.C., and also served on the National Advisory Board of the Engineering College of the University of Michigan. Mr. Carlson successfully founded Perceptron and Xycom. 


Xiaozhi Liu

PhD, Founder and CEO of ASL Automobile Science & Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.  She has been an independent board member of Autoliv (NYSE) since 2011 and independent BOD member of Fuyao Glass Group (SSE) since 2013.  Dr. Liu is also a board member of AutoEasy Co. and the Independent Supervisor of a Sino-US automotive new material JV.  She is the Executive Vice Chairman of China Automotive Elite Group, Vice Chairman of US-China Automotive Association, Vice Director of Shanghai Oversea Chinese Automotive Technology Board, Director of Shanghai AAMA (Asian American Multi-technology Association) where she is a Mentor to many Chinese Entrepreneurs.  Dr. Liu served as the Vice Chairman and CEO of Fuyao Glass Group, Chairman & CEO of GM Taiwan, CTO and Chief Engineer of GM Greater China, Customer Director and Chief Representative Managing Director of Delphi in China.  She was Nationally recognized as one of the “1000 who contributed most in the past 30 years” to the China Automotive Industry. 


Marcus Chao

PhD, CEO and President of Lean Enterprise China, Inc. (LEC), a non-profit organization disseminating lean practices to Chinese manufacturers.  Dr. Chao and his team has translated over 20 Lean-Concept related books into Chinese and brought precious professional literature to Chinese manufacturing enterprises.  Dr. Chao’s 30-year management experience in global corporations covers engineering, materials management, manufacturing, supply management, and business development.  He served as the Chairman and President of Delphi Holding Company in China.  As an active leader in Asian-American communities, Dr. Chao served as the President of the Association of Chinese Americans and the Michigan Chinese Academic and Professional Association, and was a board member of the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce.


Zhenhua Huang

PhD.  CTO Asia Pacific of Coherix.  Dr. Huang has been leading many industry projects to develop advanced three-dimensional metrology algorithms using the cutting-edge Coherix laser holography technology such as high definition disk-thickness-variation measurement, laser hologram stitching, and phase unwrapping.  He currently owns one US patent.  Dr. Huang led the development of several advanced academic research projects of “High Definition Metrology and Process: 2 mm Manufacturing” under the Precision Manufacturing and Engineering Alliance, funded by US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Advanced Technology Program (ATP).  Currently, Dr. Huang serves as the Co-PI of several research projects funded by US National Science Foundation (NSF).
